"Many Glacier Hotel"
Located
near the base of Mt. Grinnell deep in the heart of
Glacier National Park, Montana. This enormous five-story Swiss Chalet
themed lodge stretches along the shores of beautiful Swiftcurrent Lake.
Opened in 1915, this beautiful lakeside hotel with its more than 200 guest rooms is the largest national park lodge in Glacier National Park and for many years the largest hotel in Montana.
The scenery here is world famous with sweeping panoramic views of the pristine Swiftcurrent Lake surrounded by nearby Grinnell point, Mt. Henkel, and the awesome Northern Rocky Mountains.
The lobby of the Many Glacier Hotel is a smaller version of the grand lobby of nearby Glacier Park Lodge. It has the same towering timbers that support multiple levels of interior balconies. This historic lodge is further accented by unique Oriental style lanterns suspended by hand crafted wrought-iron brackets along with many other unique Native American and western works of art.
Comfortable rustic furnishings are provided for you to lounge and relax by a majestic round fireplace with a hammered copper hood. Enjoy some time just gazing out at beautiful Swiftcurrent Lake through a bank of large picture windows.
A few years ago some friends of mine after hearing me speak so highly of the Many Glacier Hotel spent a four-day second honeymoon there in a lake side suite, they still speak of it fondly to this day. It truly is the only place in America to experience the unforgettable views and ambiance of the Swiss Alps.
This sprawling facility consists of the Many Glacier Hotel and three huge five-story wing additions either directly attached, or connected by a cupola-crowned breezeway.
The Ptarmigan Dining Room has picture window views of the surrounding mountain peaks and a uniquely Swiss atmosphere that will make you feel as if you are on vacation at a grand chalet high in the Swiss Alps. A variety of continental and American cuisine is available along with a selection of Montana micro-brews and wines.
The Swiss Room Lounge offers a relaxing spot close to the Ptarmigan Dining Room with a fully stocked bar and television.
The Interlaken Lounge next to the Swiss Room offers picturesque views of beautiful Swiftcurrenr Lake along with appetizers, cocktails, and a unique selection of delicious fondues.
There is even a snack shop named "Heidi's" that has baked goods, hot-dogs, beverages, cappuccino, snacks, ice-cream, and a selection of beer and wine.
The alpine views of Glacier National Park are world famous and breathtaking. Create your own unforgettable experience with a visit to this historic national park lodge.
