"The Magnificent Ahwahnee Hotel"

Opened in 1927, offers visitors a stylish blend of architecture in a strikingly beautiful setting. One of the most luxurious national park lodges of all, this 150,000 sq. foot timber and stone building soars six-stories tall. The Ahwahnee Hotel was built in three massive wings that sit at the base of the towering Royal Arches cliffs.

This grand national park lodge was influenced by the early California, arts and crafts movement. A virtual army of Artisans and Craftsmen toiled to create this masterpiece of rustic elegance. The grand public rooms contain massive stone fireplaces along with polished mosaic wood and tile floors.

The walls are adorned with beautiful dark Ponderosa pine paneling, elegant tapestries and hand-carved trim. Unique handcrafted works of wrought-iron along with beautifully finished plaster further enhance the interiors elegant setting.

The great lounge, with its two giant stone fireplaces, has a 24-foot vaulted, exposed beam ceiling. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows with ornate stained glass panels allow the natural beauty of Yosemite National Park to filter in and charm you with spectacular views.

The grand dining room has a 34-foot vaulted, exposed beam ceiling with similar floor-to-ceiling-windows that allow for a magnificent dining experience. This national park lodge truly offers one of the most beautiful natural setting you will find anywhere in the world.
